Deborah Womble lives in Sanford and works for Chatham County School System in Pittsboro, NC. As a mother of two children, who are graduates of North Carolina’s public schools, she realizes the importance of quality public education. She teaches all grades and levels of high school English, as well as competency reading and journalism, additionally she serves as the department chair for Northwood High School’s English department. She began working in the field of education in 1985 working with Exceptional Education. She has taught high school English since 1990. In 1999 Ms. Womble received her National Board Certification in YA/ELA. She has been recognized with many honors and commendations for her commitment to and excellence in education.
