How does NCDPI Communicate with Parents and Guardians?
As the State Education Agency (SEA) for North Carolina, NCDPI communications to parents and guardians are distributed via administrative points of contact in Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and other Public School Units (PSUs). Parent and guardian contact information and related opt-out procedures are conducted via local systems. NCDPI no longer contacts parents and guardians directly. All such communications are handled via LEAs and other public school units.

To make a public records request, please fill out our Public Records Request Form.

The Educational Directory and Demographical Information Exchange (EDDIE) is an online application containing LEA (school district) and school information such as LEA numbers, school numbers, administrative contacts, school types, grade levels, calendar types, program types, addresses, and more. This information is maintained and edited by subscribed users at the LEAs and Charter Schools. EDDIE does not contain individual teacher or student information.
